To provide a protector capable of facilitating visual inspection of degradation display from the outside by simplifying a structure of a display device for degradation display and enlarging the display part of the display device.
A protector 1 comprises a jack panel 10 connected to a track and an SPD plug 40 detachably connected to the jack panel 10. The SPD plug 40 is internally provided with a protection element which prevents an abnormal voltage and the like from entering the track, a separation part 62 which separates the protection element from a circuit in an emergency when the element produced heat due to degradation, a coupling member 51, a display device 70 which displays the degradation state of the protection element, and a display window 44 and the like. The coupling member 51 rises in conjunction with the operation of the separation part 62 by the energization force of a spring 69, and a display tape 75 is pushed between guiding protrusions 72-1 and 72-2. This exposes the coloration face 73 covered by the display tape 75, thereby allowing the visual inspection of the coloration face 73 from the display window 44.
