To provide proteins capable of binding to female sex hormones which have useful properties added thereto, for example, having high sensitivity in assaying, quantifying or concentrating the female sex hormones, showing little cross-reactivity, being scarcely affected by interfering substances and being scarcely affected by solvents.
The recombinant proteins are produced by obtaining various antibody genes against the female sex hormones and then modifying various characteristics, for example, affinity for an antigen, binding properties to an antigen, cross reactivity, tolerance to a substance interfering an antigen-antibody reaction, tolerance to a substance interfering an enzymatic color development reaction, tolerance to a solvent, etc., of the original antibodies by genetically modification techniques.
