Abstract:
To provide a practical metal oxide-based proton conductive material.SOLUTION: There is provided a proton conductive material which comprises a plurality of sulfuric acid-modified metal oxide particles 10 each having a metal oxide 20 containing at least one of Ti, Sn, Zr and W and a sulfuric acid 30 supported on the surface of the metal oxide 20. The diameter of crystallites contained in each of a plurality of sulfuric acid-modified metal oxide particles 10 is 5 nm or less. The ratio of the projected area of sulfate ions per unit mass of the proton-conductive material to the surface area of the crystallites per unit mass of the plurality of sulfate-modified metal oxide particles 10 is 0.10 or more and 0.30 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
