Abstract:

To provide a proton conductive polymer film having high methanol blocking property useful for polymer electrolyte fuel cell and direct methanol type fuel cell, and to provide a manufacturing method of the same.

The proton conductive film is made of the main polymer compound composed of single substance having a part where proton conductive groups are distributed so as to penetrate through the proton conductive polymer film in the direction of thickness thereof, and the other part where the proton conductive groups are unevenly distributed so as not to penetrate, and a protection layer is formed on a surface of the polymer film so as to generate a part where the film contacts a sulfonation agent directly, and the other part where the film does not contact the same. The manufacturing method of the proton conductive film, obtained by sulfonation is provided.
