To obtain a new macrocylic compound capable of being ionized with a specific proton, having properties of carrying the subject ion in a multi-ion solution selectively and competitively from a supplying phase to a receptive phase, useful for recovering, etc., of subject metal ion.
This compound is a new macrocyclic compound which can be inonized to a specific proton and has a structure expressed in a range of formula I [(n) is an integer of 1-4; R1 is H, a blocking agent; R2 is CH2OCH2CH =CH2, CH2O(CH2)3Si(R3)2Cl (R3 is CH3, Cl), etc.], formula II ((n) is an integer of 1-3), and formula III (X is O, S; (n) is an integer of 1-3), and has activity of selectively and competitively carrying the subject from a supplying phase to a receptive phase of a multi-ionic solution, useful for recovering the subject metal ion from the receptive phase by complex forming treatment. The compound is obtained by carrying out the cyclization of the compound of formula IV (THP is tegtrahydropyranyl) or the compound of formula V with a substituted oligoethyleneglycolditosylate using POCl3.
