Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate imperfect connection of electrodes to leads by extending a part or all of the electrodes outside a PTC element, and forming leads.

CONSTITUTION: A PTC thermistor S1 is formed by holding a PTC element made of a PTC material which exhibits positive temperature coefficient characteristic between a pair of opposed electrodes 2 and 3. Part or all of the electrodes 2, 3 are extended outside the PTC element 1 as leads 4, 5. Thus, members to become the leads different from the electrodes are not necessarily prepared, the connection of the electrodes to the leads is eliminated, and improper connection of the electrodes to the leads is obviated.
