PURPOSE: To realize smooth pulling of a hollow pipe into a conduit with high workability by blasting compressed air against the cover face of an umbrella thereby advancing the hollow pipe with the pressure of the compressed air and further obtaining thrust of the hollow pipe from the reaction of the compressed air.
CONSTITUTION: Compressed air is blasted through a hollow pipe 11 against the cover face of an umbrella 13 fixed to the end of the hollow pipe 11. Consequently, pressure of the compressed air is superposed by thrust of the hollow pipe 11 produced from the reaction of the compressed air blowing rearward from the cover face 15 of the umbrella 13 thus advancing the hollow pipe 11 in a conduit 10. Since the umbrella 13 is provided with beams 12, the hollow pipe 11 advances smoothly without causing hooking of the cover face 15 to a gap in the conduit 10 even if cables are already laid therein. Consequently, the hollow pipe 11 containing optical cables or the like can be pulled smoothly into the conduit 10 with high workability by feeding small quantity of compressed air.
