To provide a pulling-up type continuous casting device and a pulling-up type continuous casting method, whereby a casting having a high accuracy can be casted by suppressing temperature fall in a molten metal in a holding furnace.
A pulling-up type continuous casting apparatus according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a molten metal holding furnace 101 which holds a molten metal M1 of aluminium or its alloy; a starter ST for leading out the molten metal M1 from a molten metal surface of the molten metal M1 held by the molten metal holding furnace 101; a shape defining member 102 is provided near the molten metal surface and defines a shape of a casting to be casted by passage of a held molten metal M2 led out by the starter ST; and a cooling gas nozzle 106 for cooling the held molten metal M2 having passed the shape defining member 102. The starter ST is structured of a cast iron.
