To provide a filtration cleaning method and apparatus at high cleaning efficiency even if a filtration cake is cracked or a bypass channel of a liquid is formed in the cake.

In a filtration cleaning method for cleaning a filtration cake by passing a cleaning solution after a slurry is filtered by a filter, the pulse cleaning method involves pulsing the cleaning solution and simultaneously leading the solution to the filtration cake to clean the filtration cake with the cleaning solution under a pulsing condition. In a filtration cleaning apparatus for cleaning a filtration cake by passing a cleaning solution after a slurry is filtered by a filter, the pulse cleaning apparatus comprises a filter cleaning means and also a means for pulsing the cleaning solution.
