To provide a pulse combustion device having conduits formed in a circular array.
Each conduit has a wall surface extending from an upstream inlet 42 to a downstream outlet 43. Fixed inlet and outlet end members 44, 45 are provided respectively upstream and downstream of the conduit array and have an open area 46 for allowing gas to flow into the conduits and an open area 47 for allowing gas to flow out of the conduits, respectively. The member 45 functions as a nozzle structure, and the area 47 functions as a nozzle aperture. The array and the member 45 are rotatable in a first direction 506 relative to each other. A means for providing nozzle shape varied in a circumferential direction is provided at least partially at the member 45. The means provides an effective throat area varied in the circumferential direction. The member is substantially fixed, and the array rotates. The means is provided with a passage that passes through the member 45, and the member 45 is further provided with an igniter 66.
