Abstract:
To provide a pulse generation device which becomes alternative of a thyratron, can perform high speed switching and can generate a high voltage and large current pulse.SOLUTION: A pulse generation device comprises: an avalanche circuit in which a plurality of thyristors are connected in series and the thyristors are switched with zero gate current; a trigger circuit for supplying a trigger signal to the lowermost stage of the avalanche circuit; and an equal voltage supply circuit for equally supplying applied voltage to the plurality of thyristors of the avalanche circuit. When the trigger signal is inputted to the lowermost stage of the avalanche circuit, the thyristor becomes an on-state, and a high-speed pulse of high voltage and large current can be generated in a load by appling DC high voltage from an external power supply to the switching circuit with which the avalanche circuit shifts to a low resistance state from an insulation state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
