PURPOSE: To provide the pulse generator generating a pulse whose dividing ratio and duty ratio are optionally selected synchronously with a reference clock.

CONSTITUTION: The generator is provided with a 1st counter 1 operated synchronously with an input clock signal, loading a default 7 by a load command, starting count and providing an output of an RCO signal 6 when a counter output overflows, AND gates 3, 4 whose RCO output terminal is connected to one of respective input terminals, a JK flip-flop 5 operated synchronously with the input clock, whose J, K input terminals connect respectively to output terminals of the AND gates 3, 4, and whose Q, inverse of Q output terminals connect respectively to the other of input terminals of the AND gates 4, 3, and a 2-to-1 line selector 11 selecting either of two values with a select input and providing the selected signal as a default of the 1st counter 1, and an inverse of the RCO signal is used for the load command and a Q output signal of the JK flip-flop 5 is used for the select input.
