Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse light control method and a device therefor, which use pulse capturing to be able control the wavelength, the temporal waveform, and the output time of a pulse light to be controlled.
SOLUTION: Control pulse light 2 and pulse light to be controlled 1 having mutually orthogonal polarization directions are made incident on the inside of an optical fiber 6 while adjusting the time difference, and the pulse light to be controlled 1 is made collide against the control pulse light 2 in the optical fiber 6, and the control object pulse light 1 is captured due to a nonlinear optical effect by the control pulse light 2, and the wavelength of the pulse light to be controlled 1 is continuously shifted simultaneously with wavelength shift of the control pulse light 2, which is caused by Raman scattering.
