Abstract:

PURPOSE: To release transportation of a high viscosity material by forming a pair of side plates serving as means for releasing a pressure generated at a meshing portion of gears when the material is sent to an outlet end of a pump body and reducing a load acting on bearings and shaft assemblies.

CONSTITUTION: A pump 10 is suitable for materials having a viscosity up to about 3.0×105 cps (centipoise). In this case, a pair of gears 14 meshing with each other are disposed in gear receiving means 13 between an inlet end and an outlet end of a pump body 12. Further, plain bearings 20 are disposed in bearing receiving means in a pair of side plates 16, 18 blocking the gear receiving means 13. Furthermore, a pair of shafts 22, 24 with the pair of gears 14 mounted thereto are pivoted by the plain bearings 20. Then, each of the side plates 16, 18 is provided with means, for example, a recess, for reducing a load acting on the bearing and shaft assembly, thus releasing a pressure generated at a meshing portion of the gears 14 when the material is sent to the outlet end.
