To provide a pump operation control device for starting a pump 5 arranged at a water storage part (water storage tank 1) in which water is stored for discharging the water in the water storage part when the water level in the water storage part gets as high as or higher than a starting water level H1 while stopping the pump 5 when the water level gets as low as or lower than a stopping water level H2; to securely prevent the water from overflowing from the water storage part even if inflow of the water to the water storage part increases while preventing the pump 5 from being frequently started/stopped in the pump operation control device.
Rising speed of the water level in the water storage part is detected while the pump 5 is stopped. When the water level rising speed is not less than a predetermined speed, the pump 5 is started even though the water level of the water storage part is lower than the starting water level H1.
