Abstract:
To provide a longer life for a pump by avoiding the wear and cavitation damage of, dominantly, a wetted portion of a nonferrous light metal casting base material.
A pump casing 2 has a center boss 2A, a peripheral wall 2B, and a plurality of guide vanes 2C, 2C provided between the center boss 2A and the peripheral wall 2B, all being cast of aluminum casting base material 10. A ribbed reinforcing member 11 of stainless casting, greatly superior to the casting base material 10 in wear resistance and cavitation damage resistance is mounted in the state of being integrally bonded to the casting base material 10 in a wetting possible manner during casting while covering the surfaces at the upstream ends of the plurality of guide vanes 2C, 2C.
