To provide a pump unit which prevents a liquid leakage from an air hole and is operable in response to a helical bellows, and a container.
The pump unit 10 sucks a liquid in a container body 12 to the outside, and comprises a suction pipe 23 inserted in the container body 12, the bellows 25 communicating with and connected to the suction pipe 23, a piston, which is connected to the bellows 25 to suck up the liquid in the container body 12 by expanding/contracting the bellows 25, a case 16 housing a shaft case 20 and the bellows 25, and a cap 50 covering the end of the case 16. The air hole 16c for making the inside of the case 16 communicate with the outside is formed on the case 16. An opening/closing part 51 is formed between the cap 50 and the shaft case 20 so that the opening/closing part 51 makes the inside of the air hole 16c communicate with the outside of the container body 12 when the bellows is contracted while cuts off the inside of the air hole from the outside of the container body when the bellows 25 is allowed to return to the original state in the expanding direction.
