Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a rotary pump for viscous material having a housing and an impeller.
CONSTITUTION: A conical chamber 22 of a housing 12 has a discharge port 20 at a tip part portion where the conical chamber 22 is made narrow. An impeller 14 has a conical part 30 having a logarithmic spiral groove along the outside face. The spacing between an inner wall surface of the housing 12 and the impeller 14 is either one of a constant gap or a gap that decreases along the longitudinal direction of the impeller 14. The depth of the groove can be made constant or be increased or decreased along the longitudinal direction of the impeller 14. As a result, a theoretical value in design in which a pump is small-sized, stands a high temperature, is short in response time, is adaptable to viscosity of a wide range and is small in pressure fluctuation during an operation can be easily obtained.
