To provide an effective and appropriate pumping device which can securely and efficiently perform pumping from a water area without the necessity of an intake pump and a pump pit therefor.
A bubble emitting tube 13 with a bubble emitting port 14 at the lower end thereof is provided in an intake pipe 3 (or outside the intake pipe 3) and the bubble emitting port is arranged midway in the intake pipe; and bubbles are discharged from the bubble emitting port into the intake pipe by a pneumatic device (compressor 12) connected to the bubble emitting tube so that a pump head necessary for the pumping is obtained, allowing the pumping to be performed. The depth of the bubble emitting port is set deeper than a saturated depth in an unsaturated area, and the bubbles discharged from the bubble emitting port into the intake pipe are dissolved in unsaturated water in the intake pipe to lower density, so that the pump head necessary for the pumping is obtained by a density difference generated inside and outside the intake pipe. The bubbles discharged from the bubble emitting port are micro bubbles of 10 micrometers or smaller, or nano bubbles.
