To provide an inexpensive pumping system with a simple structure, configured to reliably supply priming and detect pumped water even if a water pump is used in a tilted state, and to prevent freezing in a priming pipe even if the water pump is used in a cold area.
A pumping system 10 has an ejector 13. The ejector 13 and a water pump 11 are connected via a priming pipe 14. A diaphragm-type water stop valve 15 and a check valve 16 are provided in the priming pipe 14. The pumping system 10 includes a compressor 17 and a compressed air pipe 18. A pressure sensor 20 is provided in the water pump 11. The vicinity of a water inlet port 23 of the water pump 11 is connected with a suction port 29 of the ejector 13 via the priming pipe 14. A second check valve 22 having an input port 30 and an output port 31 is provided. A controller 21 is provided for opening/closing an open/close valve 19 on the basis of the output signal from the pressure sensor 20.
