To provide a pump unit structured not to give an adverse influence to rotation of the rotating member in spite of deposition of substance contained in the liquid.
A pump unit 1 is provided with an impeller 18 driven for rotation by a driving source 16, an impeller chamber 23 for rotatively accommodating the impeller 18, a liquid intake portion 31 having an intake port 42 through which the liquid is introduced into the impeller chamber 23, and a liquid discharge portion having a discharge port 42 through which the liquid is discharged. The pump unit 1 is installed in an enclosure 3 having a reservoir tank 4 for storing the liquid installed therein as a part of the piping. At this time, a deposit portion 34 is formed at a position between the reservoir tank 4 and the impeller 18 where the impeller 18 is located downward of the rotating locus of the impeller 18 such that the liquid is guided from the reservoir tank 4 to the impeller 18 and the substance contained in the liquid is deposited.
