PURPOSE: To avoid adhering of chips caused at punching time to the tip face of a punch and to smoothen the following punching work, by providing at least two or more sharp parts whose lengths in the axial directions differ each other to the tip edge part on a punching member.

CONSTITUTION: The tip part of a punch 26 has a pair of sharp parts 26a, 26b whose lengths in the axial directions differ and the side face shape is made in a deformed V shape. As a result, the force required for punching a magnetic card 1 by using the punch made in a bilateral symmetric V shape viewed from the side face becomes at a small value. Moreover, a chip 7 is surely falls to the center hole 23 of a die member 16 because of the end face 26c of the punch 26 not becoming in a plane. Consequently, the magnetic card 1 is punched and the chip 7 thereof is stored from the center hole 23 into the chip storing part arranged at the lower side thereof.
