Abstract:
To provide a high-quality odorless carotenoid pigment used for foods, drugs, quasi-drugs and cosmetics by removing the inherent characteristic odor and contaminants from a material containing a carotenoid pigment.
A purified carotenoid pigment is obtained by mixing a material containing 1% or above carotenoid with a water-soluble organic solvent and then with a fat-soluble organic solvent or by mixing the material with a fat- soluble organic solvent and then with a water-soluble organic solvent.
