Abstract:

To provide a purification process which is advantageous for treating a gasoline containing mercaptan, diene and/or acetylene impurities.

The feedstock 1 is subjected to selective hydrogenation 3 and the resultant effluent is stabilized 4 and subjected to sweetening 8. The resultant gasoline is degassed 9. The selective hydrogenation is carried out by using a 0.1-1% Pd on carrier catalyst at a pressure of 4-50 bar, 50-250°C and 1-10h-1 LHSV. The sweetening treatment is effected by bringing a stabilized gasoline into contact with a catalyst at 20-80°C and 1-30 bar in the presence of an alkaline base and an oxidizing agent.
