Title:
PURIFICATION OF COENZYME Q
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS56124389
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: Crude coenzyme Q is purified with silica gel chromatography using a specific developer, whereby high-purity coenzyme Q is obtained in high yield.

CONSTITUTION: Crude coenzyme Q is collected from cell bodies of microorganisms, internal organs of animals or bloody-color flesh or synthesized and dissolved in a nonpolar solvent such as n-hexane or n-pentane. Then, the solution is charged in the column of silica gel chromatography and developed by feeding a developing solvent composed of 98W90vol% methyl tert-butyl ether and 2W10vol% a nonpolar solvent. The purified coenzyme Q is eluted together with the developing solvent and collected by distilling off the solvent.
