Abstract:
PURPOSE: To purify the title coenzyme Q efficiently, by adsorbing a crude coenzyme Q on a carbonaceous synthetic resin, and by eluting the coenzyme Q with a polar or nonpolar solvent or both.
CONSTITUTION: A crude coenzyme Q prepared by the synthesis or extracted from an animal or vegetable tissue or microbial cell is adsorbed by a carbonaceous synthetic adsorbent resin, e.g. Ambersorb XE-340 (Rohm & Haas Co.) which is obtained by carbonizing an adsorptive resin composition, and then eluted with a polar or nonpolar solvent or both.
