Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purification process of a long-chain dicarboxylic acid from a liquid containing a long-chain dicarboxylic acid and/or its salt and giving a high-quality long-chain dicarboxylic acid having excellent purity and chromaticity.
SOLUTION: A single salt of a long-chain dicarboxylic acid is formed by adjusting the pH of a liquid containing a long-chain dicarboxylic acid and/or its salt to 6.2-7.0. The long-chain dicarboxylic acid single salt is dissolved under heating and the solution is cooled to crystallize the salt. The solution is filtered to obtain a filter cake of the long-chain dicarboxylic acid single salt. The cake is dissolved under heating and the long-chain dicarboxylic acid single salt is converted to a long-chain dicarboxylic acid. The produced acid is separated from the system.
