Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide methacrylamide excellent in the hue of its crystal, purity and the transparency of its methanol solution, thus suitable for wind-proof glass etc.
CONSTITUTION: The hydrogen ion concentration of an aqueous methacrylamide solution is adjusted to pH ≥8 to carry out crystallization, and the methacrylamide crystal is separated, and then, ≥5wt.% of the resulting mother liquor is adjusted to pH ≤5 to effect deposition of insolubles, which is then separated and reused, thus providing the objective purification of methacrylamide.
