Abstract:

To provide a basic anion exchange resin which has realized a reduction in elution of total organic carbon (TOC).

A boron-selective basic anion exchange resin is heat-treated at a temperature of 60°C or above in a solution of an alkali such as sodium hydroxide which is an alkali metal hydroxide. Thereafter, in order to remove TOC component eliminated from the ion exchange resin, the anion exchange resin is washed with a water-soluble organic solvent, which can be mixed with water at any desired ratio, such as alcohol or acetone as an organic solvent or with an aqueous solution containing the organic solvent in an amount of not less than 50 wt.%.
