PURPOSE: To suppress the formation of settled floc in a main tank by effectively utilizing the chemical agent such as a flocculant contained in water to be treated.
CONSTITUTION: The treated water in a flotation treatment tank 6 contains the chemical agent such as a flocculant added to a supply pipeline 5 for water to be treated and sent to a pressurized water tank 20 to which compressed air is supplied from an air compressor 19 by a treated water pump 18 to become air and chemical agent-containing pressure treated water. A part of the pressurized treated water is mixed with the water to be treated in the supply pipeline 5 and the remainder thereof is mixed with the water to be treated in the return passage 4 for water to be treated from a painting booth 3. When the pressurized treated water is mixed with the water to be treated returned from the painting booth 3, the paint in the water to be treated and the chemical agent contained in the pressurized treated water are certainly mixed by the action of air to form floc. When this floc formed water returns to the main tank 2, the floc well floats along with air bubbles.
