Abstract:

To provide a method that inexpensively and industrially produces: a purified product of a metal complex having an oxalic acid as a ligand; and a nonaqueous solvent purification solution of the metal complex.

An oxalic acid that exists in a nonaqueous solvent solution of a metal complex having the oxalic acid as a ligand is reacted with a thionyl halide under a nonaqueous solvent, and a decomposition product produced by the reaction and an unreacted thionyl halide are removed by deaeration.
