PURPOSE:To reduce unburnt components by closing the 1st exhaust port directly communicating to an exhaust manifold prior to the 2nd exhaust port communicating to a communication route and re-burning the exhaust gas by exhausting to the communication route from the 2nd exhaust port. CONSTITUTION:Plural exhaust ports 7, 9 are respectively provided on the numerous cylinders 3-6 of an engine 2. In this case, the respective branch pipe 10 mutually communicated by a communication pipe 11 is respectively connected to a 2nd exhaust port 9. The upperstream end of an exhaust pipe 12 is connected to the communication pipe 11 and the downstream end of the exhaust pipe 12 is connected to an exhaust manifold 8. The opening and closing valve 15 restricting the lead-out of an exhaust gas is arranged on the half-way of the exhaust pipe 12. And the opening and closing valve 15 is controlled by a control means 16 based on the detection signal of an O2 sensor 20. At this time the closing time of the 1st exhaust port 7 is made earlier than the closing time of the 2nd exhaust port 9. The exhaust gas exhausted to the communication pipe 11 from the 2nd exhaust port 9 is re-burnt.
