To provide a method and a device for efficiently purifying an exhaust gas containing NOx, an organic chlorine compound and a combustible gas.
An NOx removing device 2 is arranged in an exhaust gas flow passage of a poststage of an exhaust gas reheater 1, a combustion catalytic device 3 is arranged in the poststage thereof and an organic chlorine compound removing catalytic device 4 is arranged further in the poststage thereof. An unburnt combustible gas contained in the exhaust gas is removed by allowing it to contact with a combustion catalyst to be burnt and the organic chlorine compound is efficiently removed since the temp. of the exhaust gas is increased by the combustion heat. Unburnt NH3 is burnt in the combustion catalytic device 3 to suppress the disturbance of the removing reaction of the organic chlorine compound caused by the unburnt NH3.
