Title:
PURIFYING METHOD OF LUBRICATING OIL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5863785
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To purify impurities, e.g. sulfur, even in a lubricating oil containing an additive for preventing the premature deterioration, by adding a detergent- dispersant in a specific proportion to the lubricating oil, and passing a DC current through electrodes in an oil purifying tank to subject the lubricating oil to the electrical treatment.

CONSTITUTION: A lubricating oil is introduced from an oil flowing inlet 8 of an electrostatic oil filter 1 and passed through an inner electrode 3 and to the interior of an oil purifying tank 2. A detergent-dispersant, preferably containing only containing only Ca sulfonate, is then added to the lubricating oil to give 2wt% or less concentration, and a DC current is passed from the oil purifying tank 2 which is a positive electrode through the lubricating oil and the inner electrode 3 which is a negative electrode to purify the lubricating oil. The treated lubricating oil is preferably made to flow from an oil flowing outlet 9 to the outside of the electrostatic oil filter 1.

EFFECT: Prolonged exchange time of engine oil and engine life.
