To provide a push start switch that can stop an engine even in faults, allows one to start the engine by a push switch with improved feeling in a keyless system for certification by a portable machine, and can use audio, or the like, while the engine has not been started.
When a push switch section 2 is allowed to enter a predetermined position, an IGN movable contact 222 and an IGN fixed contact 32 conduct electricity. When the push switch section 2 is allowed to enter further, an IGN power supply and a starter motor 9 conduct electricity. When the push switch section 2 is set to a free state from that state, the push switch section 2 makes continuity with the IGN power supply and is retained at a position for preventing continuity with the starter motor 9 for locking. When the push switch section 2 is allowed to enter again from the locked state, a push lock mechanism releases it.
