Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a silyl-containing vinyl resin which can be inexpensively and easily produced and can further give a coating film excellent in general properties including weathering resistance, adhesion, gloss, hardness, chemical resistance, water resistance, staining resistance, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This resin comprises a copolymer comprising 10-70wt.% polymerizable silane monomer represented by the formula: R1 Si(OR2)(OR3)(OR4) [wherein R1 is a polymerizable unsaturation; and R2, R3 and R5, which may be the same or different from each other, are each a 1-5C alkyl, a 2-5C alkoxyalkyl or a 1-5C acyloxy], 1-20wt.% ultraviolet-stable monomer having a polymerizable unsaturation and 89-10wt.% another acrylic monomer.
