Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a PWM control circuit that can generate a PWM signal high in resolution with a small circuit scale and to obtain a microcomputer and an electronic device.
SOLUTION: This PWM control circuit is provided with a PWM period setting register 10, a connector 12, an edge point setting register 14, a PWM output circuit 20 that changes a level of a PWM signal at a 1st edge point, and a delay setting register 16 that is provided additionally to a lower-order digit point of the edge point setting register 14 to specify a delay time off the 1st edge point. The PWM output circuit 20 delays the 1st edge point by a period shorter than one clock period of a CLK in response to a setting value of the delay setting register 16. Thus, the resolution of the PWM signal can be enhanced. A setting value in one or two bits is stored to the delay setting register 16, the 1st edge point is delayed by a half clock period in response to this setting value or the 1st edge point is delayed by 1/4, 2/4, or 3/4 clock period.
