PURPOSE: To provide a new compound having sensitivity to the light of the visible light region, especially of longer wave lengths region than green color light and useful as a photosensitizer for a photosensitizing resin composition which is photopolymerizable or photo-cross-linkable.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula (R1 is proton, 1-4C alkyl or phenyl; R2 and R3 are cyano, alkoxycarbonyl, acyl, sulfonyl, etc.; R4 and R5 are 1-6C alkyl; R6 and R7 are proton, etc.; n is 3 or 4), e.g. 4,4-dicyano-6-methyl-2- julolidil-4H-pyrane. Said compound is obtained, e.g. by reacting julolidinal with 4,4-dicyanomethylene-2,6-dimethyl-4H-pyrane. The pyrane derivative enables the transfer of an absorption maximum to a longer wave length side and thereby the objective photosensitizer is made to have a high absorption sensitivity even to the light of longer wave length than 514.5nm of Ar laser and further 600nm of He-Ne laser. A hologram recording medium can be produced by using a compound of formula.
