Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the new pyridyl derivatives exerting an excellent activity as pesticides, fungicides and acaricides, and are useful as pest-preventives.

CONSTITUTION: The compounds of the formula I [Ar is (substituted)phenyl, (substituted)pyridyl; A is CH2, the formula II] [provided that 2- methoxy-1-[N-[6-(4-chlorophenyl-ethynyl)-2-pyridyl]-N-methyl]-methyl aminoacrylate, 2-methoxy-1-[N-[6-(2-fluoro-4-chlorphenyl-ethynyl)-2-pyridyl]-N- methyl]-methyl aminoacrylate or the like are excepted], e.g. methyl-N [6-[2-(2- chloro-4-methoxyhenyl; -ethynyl)-2-pyridyl] sarcosinate of the formula III. The compounds of the formula I wherein A is CH2 are obtained by allowing the new methyl-N-(6-ethynyl-2-pyridyl)sarcosinate of the formula IV to react with aromatic halide compounds of the formula Ar-X (X is Br, I). They can also be obtained via a new compound of the formula V.
