Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a novel compound, which is an excellent ALS inhibitor, useful as a herbicide having a high herbicidal potency with a relatively low amount not only to annular weeds but to perennial weeds, and is highly safe to the crops.
CONSTITUTION: An imino ester derivative of 6-chloro-2-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2- yl)oxybenzoic acid represented by formula I, [wherein Q is a 1-10C alkyl, alkenyl or cycloalkyl, a 1-4C alkyl, phenylthio, a phenyl-1-4C alkyl, substitutable by 1-4C alkoxy or a 1-4C alkylthio, formula II, (wherein R1, R2 are each H, a halogen, a 1-4C alkyl, a 1-4C alkenyl, an acyl, an acyloxy, NO2, CN, phenyl, phenoxy, or the like; and (n) is 0 or 1), or the like; R is H, a halogen, CN, Z-R3, (wherein R3 is a 1-4C alkyl, a 1-8C alkoxy, phenyl, phenoxy, or the like; and Z is O, S, CO, or the like)] is produced. The compound is obtained by reacting a compound represented by formula III and a compound represented by formula IV in the presence of a solvent.
