Title:
PYROELECTRIC ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05187918
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the heat capacity and capacitance (element capacity) of the a pyroelectric element so as to improve the voltage sensitivity of the element by reducing the area of an electrode formed on the rear surface of a pyroelectric substrate. CONSTITUTION:Two light receiving electrodes 1a and 1b connected to each other by means of a connecting electrode 5 are arranged on one main surface, namely, the light receiving surface of a pyroelectric substrate 10 and two counter electrodes 2a and 2b which have nearly the same shapes as the electrodes 1a and 1b and are faced to the electrodes 1a and 1b, are arranged on the other main surface of the substrate 10. Then fitting electrodes 3a and 3b for external connection are arranged at both end sections of the other main surface of the substrate 10 and the counter electrodes 2a and 2b are respectively connected to the fitting electrodes 3a and 3b through lead electrodes 4a and 4b having widths narrower than those of the counter electrodes 2a and 2b.
