PURPOSE: To obtain Q-20547 compound having cholecystokinin B/gastrin receptor antagonistic action and usdful e.g. for the treatment and prevention of digestive system diseases and disorders of appestatic system and central nerve system.
CONSTITUTION: The Q-20547 compound specified by the plane structural formula expressed by the formula (R is benzyl or isobutyl) or its pharmacologically permissible salt. The compound can be produced by culturing a microbial strain belonging to the genus Aspergillus and capable of producing the Q-20547 compound [e.g. Aspergillus sp. Q20547 (FERM P-13662)] in a medium to effect the production and accumulation of the compound in the cultured product and collecting the compound therefrom. The diseases relevant to the cholecystokinin B/gastrin receptor and effectively curable by the compound are gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, gastritis, peptic esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, gastrin sensitive pancreas, anxiety, etc.
