PURPOSE: To support an object go be supported in a compact structure by supporting those objects separately from each other and at the same time resetting automatically after a quake preventing action is through.
CONSTITUTION: A quake preventing device 1 has a support 8 screwed into a nut part 7 fixed at a bottom part 6 of an equipment via a screw part 8a. The support 8 supports the weight of the equipment and also controls the height of the equipment. A ball (sliding member) 9 is attached rotatably to a spherical recess part 8b formed at the lower end of the support 8. A mounting member 10 placed on a floor surface 11 contains a sliding surface part 10a and a wall part 10b and a rubber plate 12 is bonded to the bottom surface of the member 10. A large diameter part of a conical coil spring 13 touches an inside corner part of the member 10 via a lower end part 13a. While a small diameter part of the spring 13 is fitted at a neck part 8d of the support 8 via an upper end part 13b. The spring 14, etc., are covered with a rubber cover 14. Thus the member 10 quakes horizontally together with the surface 11 when an earthquake occurs. As a result, the fall-down of each equipment, etc., can be avoided.
