Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a quality evaluation device for barium titanate optical crystal capable of evaluating the light refraction characteristics of barium titanate optical crystal easily and in a short time.

CONSTITUTION: A barium titanate optical crystal 12 is pinched between a pair of electrodes 6 arranged on a measuring stage 13 and capacitance of the crystal 12 is measured with an LCR meter 8. This measured value of capacitance is input in a computer 9 and the personal computer 9 calculates a relative permittivity from the measured value of the capacitance. If the relative permittivity exceeds 80, the crystal is judged no good and the judgment result is indicated on a display 10, for example.
