Title:
QUALITY EVALUATION DEVICE FOR VITERBI DEMODULATED DATA USING ZERO STATE EVALUATION VALUE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3248715
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the transmission rate decision errors by evaluating the quality of demodulated data by using the zero state evaluation value set to four types of transmission rates which are assumed to the demodulated data to be inputted as a quality evaluation parameter and deciding a transmission rate based on the zero state evaluation value.
SOLUTION: The demodulated data are decoded into the decoding data on a frame form consisting of the transmission ends after the errors included in a correctable range are corrected by a Viterbi decoding part 20. Then the zero state evaluation value are calculated and outputted to the assumed four types of transmission rates (9600, 4800, 2400 and 1200 bps). The zero state evaluation value outputted from the part 20 are stored in each zero state register 22. A Viterbi demodulated data quality evaluation means 24 reads each zero state evaluation value out of the register 22 to decide the optimum quality when the zero state evaluation value is '0' and also to decide the assumed transmission rate having the minimum zero state evaluation value as a real transmission rate.
