Abstract:
PURPOSE: To automatically and highly accurately detect the color density level of matter to be inspected and, by flexibly estimating quality, conforming nearly with the visual sensibility of consumer.
CONSTITUTION: The monitoring mark 6 of color ink used for color printing of running color printing film 1 as matter to be inspected is photographed together with the standard color 8 of standard specimen 7 with a color camera 10. The color density level of the multi-gradient image data of the color ink of the monitoring mark 6 and the color density level of the standard color 8 are stored in the memory of an image processing section 14. A judging section 15 compares the color density level of the color ink with the color density level of the same color ink as similarly obtained and stored in the memory at previous printing with the color density level of the standard color 8 as standard. When the difference between the color density level of the color ink employed at the present printing and that of the color ink employed at the previous printing exceeds allowable value, the color ink at the present printing is judged as poor quality.
