Abstract:

To provide a quality keeping agent for food by which the parasitism of insect pest, the generation of molds or oxidization is prevented in various kinds of food including cereals or dried foods.

In this quality keeping agent for food, a garlic component in 20 to 60wt.% and a pepper component in 10 to 40wt.% are contained in a ceramic solid in 15 to 50wt.%, essence volatilized from these garlic component and pepper component has insect proofing, mildew proofing and antioxidant affect and the insect pest is not attracted. Thus, the quality of food is kept satisfactory for a long time.
