Abstract:
PURPOSE: To rapidly and accurately quantify the rubber component in asphalt pavement using a small quantity of a sample.
CONSTITUTION: An asphalt mixture is ground (desirably, a particle size; 100μm or less) to prepare a sample to be analyzed and this sample is thermally decomposed at 450-700°C within a short time Thereafter, the rubber component in the asphalt mixture is quantitatively analyzed using a gas chromatograp apparatus equipped with a capillary column. A small amount of the sample may be used and an analyzing time is short and analytical accuracy is excellent.
