Title:
QUANTIZATION NOISE SUPPRESSING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3306797
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the quantization error of the entirety, which becomes worse owing to the use of digital loss insertion technology for modem transmission on a digital network, through signal processing.
SOLUTION: The digital network 113 is connected between modems 101 through μ-law encoders 107 and decoders 109. To obtain a signal processed with a factor, a photodetection signal can faithfully be reproduced even in case of variance of signal processing for reducing the amplitude level of a signal generated with a specific decreased factor and the amplitude level of a transmit μ-law encoded signal. Consequently, a reproduced signal having sharp rising and falling waveforms is obtained and an optical communication can be made even for a serial communication, etc., making use of RS232C.
