Title:
QUANTUM COMPUTING ELEMENT AND QUANTUM COMPUTING UNIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3297682
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To handle a metal atom (molecule) and an organic compound as one qubit and to eliminate the device for holding an electrode, etc., by including the metal atom or molecule in an organic compound and representing information with the excitation state of a π electron.
SOLUTION: The qubit (quantum computing element) is structured having lanthanum included in a spherical shell type carbon cage and can be regarded as a superatom which has a metal as a positive charge nucleus and π electrons on a fullerene as electrons. When the metal-including fullerene is irradiated with a laser beam of a specific wavelength, the excitation state of the π electron of the superatom changes with the irradiation energy. The quantum computing element which use qubits of metal-included fullerene has the contents of operation determined by the natural wavelengths of the respective 8a to 8n and the energies in the ground state and excited state, and the interaction among the qubits at the time of the irradiation with the laser light.
